After having recently received my BFL Jalapeno I’ve decided to go ahead and put together a review of the Jalapeno. What follows is a brief history of Butterfly Labs as well as a quick tutorial on setting up the BFL Jalapeno. (more…)

If you only have the time to check out one Bitcoin related news site or channel, I’d make it Let’s Talk Bitcoin. Don’t get me wrong, Bitcoin communities like BitcoinTalk and /r/Bitcoin are awesome. I often find myself lost for hours searching through different posts, finding out what’s going on with Bitcoin. Let’s Talk Bitcoin helps to eliminate the noise and offers quality discussion as to what’s going on with Bitcoin. What’s more is that because it’s available as a podcast, you can now catch up on Bitcoin during your commute, workout, or even at work. (more…)
Things have been going fairly well here at CryptoJunky.com over the last several months. In light of this recent success I decided to go ahead and pick up a few additional domain names, and what better place than NameCheap. For those that aren’t aware, NameCheap was one of several large internet based companies that decided to accept Bitcoin earlier this year. What follows is a quick overview of my experience using Bitcoin with NameCheap. (more…)

Second was the idea of speculation. Mt Gox indicated future support for Litecoin trading. Recently the cryptocurrency community gained further confirmation of that indication from an official statement by Mt Gox. (more…)
I’ve spent a good deal of time over the last year or so pouring over Bitcoin and its derivatives. Try as I might I’m unable to predict the price of the currency at any particular point. I have found a few tools along the way though that aid in analyzing trends in Bitcoin et al. What follows is a brief overview of some of the tools I prefer to use. So whether you’re looking to become the Nate Silver of Bitcoin, or just get a bit of trade history, the following should help you out. (more…)
There have been a lot of newcomers to Bitcoin over the past several months. The coverage of Bitcoin has become so expansive that I’m being questioned about the currency by my otherwise tech illiterate friends. Unfortunately, a number of Bitcoin’s newcomers likely got caught up in the most recent valuation spike, however short lived it may have been. The good news is that Bitcoin’s valuation is beginning to level out. Coupled with the prospect of bigger news on the horizon, now may be a good time to take another look at Bitcoin. (more…)
It’s no secret that a slew of online retailers and service providers have begun accepting Bitcoin over the last several months. However awesome it might be that sites like MEGA and NameCheap accept Bitcoin the real game changer lies with Bitcoin only retailers. Amongst the early pioneers stand BitcoinStore and Bitcoinin, who have been paving the way for Bitcoin only retail online. Why accept only Bitcoin? It’s simple, by eliminating credit card fees or paypal fees, Bitcoin only retailers can offer the same products at or most often below competitor’s prices. After putting it off for several months, I decided to go ahead and give Bitcoinin a shot. Here’s my experience with Bitcoinin. (more…)
